TALKS IN INDIA AND SOUTH AFRICA
Jessica and William were designers-in-residence at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad India in January 2010, and gave a lecture before the community there: "Post-Client, Post-Ulm: The Winterhouse Lecture." In February, Bill gave a main stage presentation on "Post-Client Socially-Inspired Design" at Design Indaba, the yearly conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

ASPEN DESIGN SUMMIT
Winterhouse joined forces with AIGA to stage the Aspen Design Summit in November 2009 with 65 invited participants and 6 NGOs. After a year of planning, William  unveiled projects to galvanize design communities to engage in promoting social change. Funded by Rockefeller Foundation.



HARVARD LAW REVIEW
Winterhouse's redesign for the Harvard Law Review website launched to coincide with the publication of their November 2009 issue. The site incorporates 12 spot illustrations, in rotation, from three commissioned artists: Heather Gatley, Ian Dingman, and Matthew Cook.



DESIGNISM 4.0 AND WALK THE WALK
On November 18, William Drenttel joins Paula Scher and TOMS Shoes' Blake Mycoskie for Designism 4.0, hosted by the New York Art Director's Club. In conjunction with the event, ADC is sponsoring the Walk the Walk online fundraising auction. The ebay auction features TOMS Shoes that have been re-envisioned by a number of designers, including Jessica Helfand, who participated in the first Designism forum in 2006.

WINTERHOUSE WRITING AWARDS
Announcing the Winterhouse Awards for Design Writing + Criticism, a new initiative of AIGA and the Winterhouse Institute. These awards include a $5,000 writing award and a $1,000 student award, and will be juried by Jessica Helfand, Kurt Andersen, Julie Lasky and Meghan O'Rourke. The deadline is June 30, 2006. Winterhouse redesigned the Yale Law Journal using Matthew Carter's new typeface, Yale. The redesign issue appeared in October 2005.
